Addy Miller started her career as a child model at the age of four, but didn't get her first big break until the age eight when she won the role of Young Dakota Fanning in "The Secret Life of Bees". After setting foot on that set, she knew this was what she was meant to do with her life. Addy's most recognized work is on AMC's 2010 new original series "The Walking Dead," cast as the "Little Girl Zombie" in the pivotal opening scene that set the tone for the entire show. Fans of the show have raved her scene as "Best Kill", "Shock of the Week", "Zombie of the Week", and declared Addy as an "Instant Horror Legend". Addy's most memorable on-set moments were receiving personal direction from the great Frank Darabont, working closely with award -winning make-up artist Greg Nicotero, talking with producer Gale Anne Hurd, and hanging with actors Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne Callies. Addy is so proud of having opted to do her own stunts and doing them well. Mr. Darabont was delighted with the result! Since filming her part of "The Walking Dead", Addy has been making numerous public appearances on behalf of the show, mainly at horror and comic conventions all over the US. This has quickly become a favorite activity of hers and her family. Addy's love for acting goes beyond the roles in front of the camera. She has begun requesting crew work and delves into the technical work behind the scenes. The crews have been instructional, showing Addy how they do their work. When she is home she reviews movies and studies how the actors react to certain situations. Addy considers herself a darker actress and likes dramas and tough emotional scenes. Horror is something she does for "fun". Addy is a petite girl and is often cast in younger roles. On a personal note, Addy is home schooled and is a straight A student. Her favorite subjects are Spelling, Grammar, and Science. For fun, she plays on a competitive soccer team and hangs out with her friends. It was her first experience with stunts too, and she had to throw herself off a ladder backwards. THIS was her favorite part of filming that day!Prep work for Addy's scene in AMC's "The Walking Dead" (2010) included having a full head cast mold made and then flown to LA for specialized prosthetics designed just for her face. Addy also had to have teeth molds made for her fake teeth and her eyes measured for the special contacts. While filming "The Walking Dead" (2010) 's opening scene, Addy had to stay in full makeup for about 7 hours on set, except for the eye contacts, they were put in right before she filmed her closeup and were only in for about 1 1/2 hours total. In 2011, Addy's little brother was diagnosed with Autism. Since then, she joined forces with the Autism Society of NC to help raise funds and awareness while attending different conventions with "The Walking Dead" (2010) cast. While working on Hatfields and McCoys: Bad Blood (2012)in December in Kentucky, the weather would get pretty cold. On set Addy wore a vintage wardrobe piece. While in the heating tents to stay warm between scenes, the wind kicked up blowing her dress into the gas heater, catching it on fire. Sean Flynn came to her rescue and put the fire out. Whew! To continue filming, they had to turn Addy's dress around and make sure not to film her from behind!.When working on Plan 9 (2013), Addy had the honor of working with the only surviving cast member from the original Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959), Conrad Brooks . He plays her psychic grandfather in a new scene written for just Conrad and Addy that ties in well with the rest of the movie.Addy's beauty and creepy look for Ghost Trek: The Kinsey Report (2011) were done in a single day. She did beauty makeup and wardrobe in the morning for a quick photo shoot, and while she sat in the chair for the four hours of ghoulish makeup; wardrobe distressed the dress for the later shoot.
